There’re the most advanced heart-lung machine in the department, four Sorin SC/ S5, two Maquet HL20, ten cell saver, two Maquet extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment, together dynamic venous oxygen saturation/ hemoglobin monitoring devices, oxygen/air blenders et al. The cardiopulmonary bypass department can supply the cardiopulmonary support to all kinds of cardiac surgeries, this involve the coronary artery bypass (CABG), valve forming/ replacement, congenital heart disease, great vessel and heart lung transplant surgeries. This also involve the emergency CPB to off-pump CABG and all interventional hybrid surgeries, multiple valve replacement combined with CABG, complex congenital heart disease with low birth weight neonates, whole ascending aorta and arch branch surgeries, minimally invasive surgeries. Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest and moderate hypothermia cerebral perfusion techniques, VAVD, centrifugal pump CPB was skillful used in the surgeries of complex congenital heart disease, great vessel disease, and minimally invasive surgeries, greatly improved.the safety of the system and the protection effects of tissues and organs.
The department cooperated with clinical application of ECMO technology in the acute critical patients in the hospital, and carried out external life support treatment of cardiac (V-A ECMO) and respiratory (V-V ECMO) systems. Autologous blood transfusion technology has been widely used in cardiac surgery, which has greatly reduced the clinical bank blood volume and risk. The future development direction is minimally invasive cardiopulmonary bypass technology, ventricular assist device (artificial heart), heart and lung transplantation, etc.
